Greetings and Salutations,
This Thursday we look no further than Wauwatosa, as we travel to the well-established Walter’s On North! This place is no joke, with a menu full of amazing food and amazing daily specials, you are sure to find something to your liking! Sandwiches and starters are the main focus here, with special care going into their soup of the day. With amazing drinks, amazing food, and the best people around, there is only one place you should be this Thursday and that is at Walter’s On North!
Please note that Welcome to Thursdays will NOT be meeting next week as we celebrate that great day where we gather with our families to watch football, stuff our face and give thanks for things like the amazing informative weekly articles from the Squeaky Curd, or Milwaukee’s best social club, Welcome to Thursdays.
All this Thanksgiving talk takes me back to a very interesting tale I overheard whilst on a whaling excursion with Chris Hemsworth.
Now we all know about the very first Thanksgiving, it is no secret what happened; but what many don’t know, is that turkey wasn’t even apart of the first feast. In fact, the turkey played a much different role at that very first Thanksgiving. You see the pilgrims had sufficient amounts of meat; they shared five deer and a boatload of fowl (duck and goose). The turkeys were well aware of this, and knew they were thankful to not be a part of the menu.
In thanksgiving, the Elder Turkey Carl wanted to provide a gift for the great feast. He fell into a deep focus, and spoke to mother nature herself to find a gift that would suffice for such a grand event. Carl and Mother Nature flew through time and space looking for the right gift. They returned with what is known to be the greatest beer in all the world: Old Milwaukee. Carl the Elder Turkey approached the pilgrims and offered up allllll the beer to give thanks. The pilgrims gratefully excepted this grand gift and enjoyed the amazing brew, making the very first Thanksgiving one to not forget.
Unfortunately, it was at the second Thanksgiving that the turkey made its way to the menu. Shortly before the second Thanksgiving, the pilgrims approached Carl in hopes of obtaining more Old Mil, when Carl informed them that the supply was out, turkey became the main course.
Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving my friends!
