Greetings and Salutations my Friends,
Hold on to your hats, this week we visit what appears to be one heck of an establishment, Sam’s Tap is coming at you! They hold nothing back with an amazing beer selection, including all your favorite local brews with classics like Hamm’s or PBR and craft breweries like Door County Brewing or Eagle Park.
It doesn’t stop there – if you decide to come hungry, Sam’s Tap has you covered offering a delicious line-up including pizza, their signature paninis and my personal favorite, a variety of hot dogs. To top it all off Sam’s Tap melts everything together with an amazing atmosphere that is likely to make this Thursday a night to remember! I fully look forward to seeing you all there this Thursday as we continue our Milwaukee summer!
Though there may not be any specific stories for Sam’s Tap, I am brought back to the most famous campaign ad ever, which involved Uncle Sam. We have all seen the ad that clearly shows the patriotic Uncle Sam pointing at us stating, “We Want You to Join the US Army”; but what many do not know is that this was not the first time this message was used. You see, originally Uncle Sam had a patriotic love for a certain beer made from the land of sky blue waters: Hamm’s.
It was here that this campaign was invented, he thought if he made himself up to be extremely serious and patriotic with the question of wanting to drink more Hamm’s, the world would clearly want more Hamm’s. Well, it worked and Hamm’s has been a classic ever since. The campaign worked so well that the US Army actually used the same ad, minus the beer of course, which is where the poster we all know came from. Fortunately, after doing some very extensive digging I have found one of the original Hamm’s posters which I am happy to share with you today.
