Even covered in snow and amid frigid temps, Lucette Brewing Company in Menomonie is obviously built to be the ultimate hang out spot.
Inside, jaws drop over the gorgeous woods, steels, and soaring ceilings.
The beautiful wood work was hand-made by one owner, and the intricate mosaic behind the wood-burning oven is the work of a former employee.
There’s plenty of space to stretch out, and some long communal drinking tables for making new friends over new beers.
The Farmer’s Daughter Blonde Ale
Smooth mouthfeel, honey tinge.
Ride Again APA
Floral valley notes that stick in your nose.
Hips Don’t Lie Bavarian-Style Weissbier
Banana and clove; ends with some lip smacking, almost like a cider.
Shining Dawn Belgian Style Golden Ale
Slightly musty and earth, with a golden glow.
Border Battle Rye Blonde Ale
Light-drinking with a little rye bite.
Timber Cruiser APA
Strong grapefruit and citrus notes; very drinkable.
Harmonia IPA
Woody & hoppy, but with a notable honey sweetness.
Birkie Brew-Ski Amber Ale
Made for the Berkibiner race: great for warming up. A “nutty ol’ Amber.”
Brickyard Red Rye IPA
Classic rusty red, burnt malt taste.
Rye’d on Nitro Man Brown Ale
Overwhelmingly smooth: silk and toffee.
Winter Flannel Brown Ale
Winter lager, fire-placey. Ends with a little alcohol heat.
Slow Hand Robust American Stout
Nosey coffee; satisfying.
Slow Hand Nitro American Stout
Tastes like sweetened, caramelized malt.
While we didn’t get the chance to order off the food menu, it was as long and varied as the beer list. We did bask in the salivating aromas coming out of the pizza oven while we sipped.
We spent our time pairing the beers with some rousing board games. Great service, amazing space, and quality grub and glub made spending a long afternoon at Lucette Brewing Company the obvious choice.
